Nominations accepted July 13 through August 7
San Rafael, CA - If you’re inspired and feel a calling toward public service, take note that the nomination period opens July 13 for local offices in the November 3, 2020, General Election.
The nomination period ends at 5 p.m. Friday, August 7, with an extension to Wednesday, August 12, if an incumbent officeholder does not file. Seats open for nomination include:

Candidates may pick up and file nomination papers at the Marin County Elections Department, Suite 121, Marin County Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael. Due to the pandemic, an appointment is required. The hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and until 5 p.m. on Friday, August 7. Candidates can a href="/depts/rv/forms/candidateapplication">submit their application form online as well.
In addition to an appointment, candidates visiting the office must wear a face covering and numbers of people allowed in the lobby at one time will be limited. Candidates visiting the office without an appointment will have to wait until all other appointments are completed. The appointment calendar is online at www.marinvotes.org. Candidates should not come to the Elections Department if they are feeling ill.
