The Civic Center Cafe, located on the second floor of the Marin County Civic Center, is a relaxing indoor and outdoor seating area for employees and visitors to enjoy. A wide selection of food items and beverages are available in the cafe from several Byte Foods kiosks. The cafe doors are open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
How do the Byte Foods kiosks work?
Byte’s automated refrigerated food kiosks will be restocked daily with a variety of fresh, nutritious and locally sourced foods and beverages. These items include various sandwiches, salads, burritos and specialty entrees, as well as coffee, kombucha, and juices. There's also an assortment of snacks and treats.
Step 1: Swipe your credit card. You can filter for preferences and ingredients using the intuitive touchscreen, including any food allergy needs you may have.
Step 2: Open the kiosk and grab what you want.
Step 3: Go enjoy your meal! An electronic tag will charge your card only for what you take, no checkout process necessary. Also, the entire process is paperless, but your receipt can be emailed directly to you.

Once you've registered on the Byte kiosk's touchscreen, you’ll be able to review what is available from your computer or mobile device anytime you want. You’ll also be able to electronically provide feedback and critique the food selection so Byte can adjust future items based on crowd-sourced preferences and recommendations.
Office catering for meetings and events will not be provided through Byte Foods. County staff in need of catering services should check with their department for potential options.
