Building Maintenance

Raul M. Rojas, Director, Public Works

The County of Marin Building Maintenance division is responsible for over one million square feet spread across 52 properties from Sausalito to the beautiful Point Reyes shoreline, and as far away as Tomales. While the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Civic Center is its crown jewel, all of the County’s diverse facilities are maintained 24/7/365 with pride by the Building Maintenance team:

  • Civic Center
  • County Libraries
  • County Jail
  • Fire Department
  • Flood Control Pump Stations
  • Gnoss Field (County Airport)
  • Health & Human Services
  • Juvenile Hall
  • Marin Health & Wellness Campus
  • and more!

During emergency and disaster situations, Building Maintenance also works directly with the Sheriff’s Department, County Fire, MERA (Marin Emergency Radio Authority), Flood Control, and the Roads division to keep field operations and equipment working smoothly.

The team embraces and implements cutting edge technologies, whether it is Leed certified green building practices, ADA compliancy, solar panel energy conservation, reclaimed water or safety related hazardous material training and compliance. All operations work in unison with a conservancy committee that preserves Frank Lloyd Wright’s strong vision for the Civic Center as a nationally recognized historical landmark.
