The Santa Venetia Community Plan has been approved!

On February 14, 2017,
the Marin County Board of Supervisors
adopted the Santa Venetia Community Plan

The community of Santa Venetia is a neighborhood of over 1600 homes in unincorporated Marin, bounded by Gallinas Creek to the north, San Pablo Bay to the east, and the city of San Rafael to the south and west. Santa Venetia is located in close proximity to the Marin Civic Center and Highway 101, the County's primary north-south corridor. The Santa Venetia Community Plan addresses locally-identified issues, consistent with the policies and programs of the Countywide Plan.

Writing the Santa Venetia Community Plan was a team effort involving both County staff and an advisory committee of representatives from the community.

Advisory Committee Meetings

Advisory Committee meetings are generally held on a monthly basis at the Marin County Civic Center (check agenda for date and room location), 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael, CA 94903 from 7-9 pm. The committee members are: Giselle Block (Chair), Bonnie Monte (Vice Chair), Jane Brand, Russ Greenfield, Mary Hanley, Roger Heller, Tamara Hull, Gary Robards, Oscar Segura.

Community Meetings

November 25, 2014 Board of Supervisors Hearing The Marin County Board of Supervisors considered input from the Planning Commission on the Draft Santa Venetia Community Plan on November 25, 2014. October 27, 2014 Planning Commission Hearing The Marin County Planning Commission considered the Draft Santa Venetia Community Plan on October 27, 2014. A copy of the staff report is available here and on the Planning Commission website (www.marincounty.org/PlanningCommission). 

June 9, 2014 Community Meeting. Over 50 residents attended the Open House to share ideas about land use, parks, transportation, bicycle and pedestrian access, and more. A summary of the workshop is available for viewing.

August 29, 2013 Community Meeting. Over 30 community members attended this meeting to learn about the community plan and provide feedback about topics that are important to Santa Venetia. Feedback from individual responses and group exercises as well as summary of participant responses are available for viewing.
