Project Description

The applicant, Complete Wireless Consulting, on behalf of AT&T Mobility and the property owner, is requesting Coastal Development Permit, Use Permit and Design Review Amendment to amend the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company Coastal Permit and Design Review (P2849), originally approved on October 29, 2020. As approved, the project would involve the removal of an existing 60 foot tall pole and replacement with a proposed 54 foot tall pole with two centerline antennas at 50 feet and 42 feet in height. The utility pole would have the following setbacks: more than 100 feet from the northern front property line; 89.3 feet from the eastern side property line; 150.7 feet from the western side property line; 96.2 feet from the rear southern property line.

The proposed amendment would modify the Deputy Zoning Administrator No. 20-136, condition 1,  as follows (new text is underlined while deleted text appears in strikethrough):

This Coastal Permit, Design Review, and Conditional Use Permit approval authorizes approval to construct new improvements at an existing telecommunications facility, located on a developed lot along Lighthouse Road in West Marin.

The project entails the removal of an existing 60 foot tall pole and replacement with a proposed 54 foot 60 foot tall monopole pole with two centerline antennas at 49 feet and 57 feet 50 feet and 42 feet in height, and two microwave dishes at 12 feet and 45 feet in height. The utility pole would have the following setbacks: more than 100 feet from the northern front property line; 89.3 feet from the eastern side property line; 150.7 feet from the western side property line; 96.2 feet from the rear southern property line.

No other amendments to the approved projects are proposed.

Coastal Development Permit approval is required pursuant to Marin County Code, Implementation Plan Section 22.32.165(A) because the project entails construction of a telecommunications facility on a property located in a Coastal Commission’s appeal jurisdiction; Conditional Use permit approval is required for telecommunication facilities under the Marin County Code, Implementation Plan Section 22.62.060(D); and Design Review approval is required pursuant to Marin County Code Section 22.42.010.
