The applicant is requesting Coastal Permit approval for the construction of one 52,700-gallon bolted steel water storage tank and one 43,700-gallon bolted steel water storage tank that would replace three existing redwood water storage tanks, as well as a new 48 square-foot utility building on the 3,600 square-foot lot in Inverness. The proposed 52,700-gallon tank is approximately 26.75 feet in diameter and would reach a maximum height of approximately 15 feet above grade. The proposed 43,700-gallon tank is approximately 21.54 feet in diameter and would reach a maximum height of approximately 18 feet, 6 inches.

Coastal Permit approval is required pursuant to interim Marin County Code Section 22.56.040I because the project entails improvements to a property located in a Coastal zoning district not otherwise exempt from Coastal Permit requirements.
