The applicant requests Sign Review approval to construct two new non-illuminated signs for Alpha Dog. The first sign is proposed to be located on the western side of the building (front). The second sign is proposed to be located on the southern side of the building (side).
The front sign will consist of the text, in white lettering, depicting “DAYCARE BOARDING”, and with the Alpha Dog logo in the center. The logo will consist of black, white, and yellow colors. The total length of the sign will be 20 feet, 9 inches; the maximum height will be 32 inches. The sign area will be 22.85 square feet.
The side sign will consist of the text, in white lettering, depicting “ALPHADOG LODGING”, and with the Alpha Dog logo in black outline on the left. The total length of the sign will be 14 feet, 3 3/8 inches; the maximum height will be 26 inches. The sign area will be 13.5 square feet.
Both signs will result in a total aggregate of 36.35 square feet. The letterings, composed of vinyl decal lettering, will be affixed directly to the wood siding of the second story deck railing where the lowest point of the signs will be approximately 10 feet above grade. The graphics will be of vinyl decal, affixed to 6mm DiBond composite board, will be mounted directly to the wood siding of the solid railing.
Sign Review approval is required because the proposed signs exceed the dimensional standards of the Marin County Development Code, Chapter 22.28 - Signs, 22.28.040.E.
