Project Description

The Marin Jewish Community Campus (JCC) is requesting Design Review and Use Permit amendment approvals to redevelop parts of the JCC. Redevelopment is proposed to occur as follows:

Congregation Rodef Sholom – Demolish and Replace the existing 14,357-square-foot synagogue with a new 23,317-square-foot two-story structure. The new building would entail second story offices, meeting space/hall, a new events hall with kitchen and landscaped outdoor courtyard.

Osher Marin JCC Aquatic CenterDemolish the existing 491 square foot outdoor children’s pool and construct a new 2,175-square-foot pool in the same location. The existing outdoor pool would remain untouched. New pool mechanical building and changing rooms would also be constructed. 

Brandeis Marin K-8 School – Convert existing 2,074 square foot attic/storage space to classrooms. In additional, the applicant proposes interior remodel to throughout the building in anticipation of student enrollment growth in the next five years from current enrollment of 171 students to 250 students. 

Osher Marin JCC Early Childhood Education Center – A 700 square foot addition to create a new lobby and entry way. Other proposed improvements include interior renovations and exterior improvements to play areas.

Design Review approval is required because the project involves physical improvements to non-residential buildings in the A2 and RMP districts and Use Permit amendment approval is required to amend an approved use permit.
