The applicant requests Design Review approval for four mobile lighting units to be seasonally located on an existing athletic field at the Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield. The proposed mobile lighting system is comprised of four 30-foot-high mobile gas-powered light towers (Wanco Vertical-Mast Light Towers) that would be placed at 90-foot intervals along the northeastern edge of the field area to be deployed on weekdays (Monday – Friday) between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM during the periods between daylight savings time (November through March). Each tower supports an array of four elliptical light fixtures proposed to be oriented towards the southwest. The towers would be located more than approximately 379 feet from the northeastern front property line, 156 feet from the southern side property line, 250 feet from the southwestern rear property line, and over 600 feet from the northern side property line.
Design Review approval is required pursuant to Marin County Code 22.42.020 because the project entails physical improvements not otherwise exempt under Marin County Code Section 22.42.025
