Project Description

The applicant requests Coastal Permit approval to convert a 660-square-foot portion of a previously permitted residence into an accessory dwelling unit (“ADU”) on a lot located in Bolinas. The accessory dwelling unit would be located within the same building as the primary residence and would measure approximately 660 square feet. The existing height of 25 feet would remain unchanged. The residence would retain the following existing setbacks: 25 feet from the south front property line; 10 feet from the west side property line; 67 feet six inches from the east side property line; and approximately 55 feet from the north rear property line. Aside from interior remodel to create an ADU, no other improvements are proposed.

Pursuant to Interim Marin County Development Code Section 22.56.055I(F), a Coastal Permit is required for the conversion of existing space to an accessory dwelling unit.
