Development Code Amendments 2023

County Planning staff is proposing amendments to the Development Code (Marin County Code Title 22) to ensure that the code is internally consistent and clear and incorporates recent changes in State accessory dwelling unit (ADU) law. Beyond the proposed modifications to the ADU provisions, the amendments do not include changes to address recent State housing laws; amendments to the code to reflect housing law mandates are anticipated in January 2023. The proposed amendments to the ADU provisions are the only component of the code updates that would be applicable in the coastal areas of the County.  

The Marin County Planning Commission will hold a public workshop on the proposed amendments, followed by a hearing on a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors, at a future date.
