EHS - Requires a well drilling permit from Marin County Environmental Health Services (EHS)

City - Requires a well drilling permit from the respective City, not EHS, if site is within the City limits.

EHS * - Requires a permit from the respective City before the well drilling permit from EHS is issued.

EHS ** - Requires prior review by the water district before the EHS permit is issued.

EHS *** - Requires Notification to water district of the EHS permit issuance.

PTO by EHS - Installed wells require a permit-to-operate (PTO) from EHS before being used for drinking water.
