Tax Levy for Paradise Ranch Estates

Board of Supervisors

Meeting Date: 1/4/2022

Agenda Item #8: The Board will hear a request from the Department of Public Works to adopt a resolution calling for a special election to impose a special tax to be levied for the Paradise Ranch Estates Permanent Road Division. There are 159 parcels within the division, located in Inverness. The roads within division are non-County maintained roads and maintenance responsibility falls to the fronting property owners. Staff recommends calling for a special election to be consolidated with the special election scheduled for April 12 to impose a special tax upon parcels within the Paradise Ranch Estates Permanent Road Division for the purpose of financing improvements and ongoing maintenance of roadways within the division. Should it pass, assessments of $968 per parcel per year would be assessed for 10 years, thereafter $125 per year per parcel for 15 years for ongoing maintenance. Passage requires a two-thirds majority.

The Board adopted the resolution calling for the special election.
