Purchase Agreement for Smith Property

Board of Supervisors

Meeting Date: 8/9/2022

Agenda Item #7: The Board will hear a request from the Marin County Parks to authorize the Board President to execute a purchase agreement for the acquisition of the Smith Property (Assessor’s Parcel Numbers 186-010-10 and 186-010-16), a parcel known locally as Buck's Landing. In a move to ensure more public access to San Francisco Bay wetlands and recreation, Parks seeks to purchase 7.27 acres of Buck’s Landing on the edge of Gallinas Creek, a follow-up to the County's 2020 purchase of 33 acres of the property owned by the Smith family. Staff requests that the Board authorize the Director of Finance to complete budget adjustments, approve the purchase and sale agreement, and approve the Certificate of Acceptance of Grant of Interest in Real Property for the Grant Deed from the Smith Brothers Trusts.

The Board authorized the Board President to execute the purchase agreement.
