Highlights of the August 16, 2022 Board Meeting:
The Board of Supervisors is holding meetings that allow for remote participation as well as in-person participation in response to the continued COVID-19 pandemic. Zoom videoconferencing technology remains available for participants as it has been since March 2020. The Board members will participate in the Civic Center's Board chamber and encourage both types of participation. Those visiting the Board chamber are requested to wear a face covering and respect social distancing while watching the meeting and may lower their face covering when speaking at the microphone. For instructions and guidance on how to watch the meeting or submit public comment, visit the Board of Supervisors' meeting webpage. Viewers also may watch the Community Media Center of Marin's webcast. Comcast subscribers in Marin may watch on Channel 27.

Agenda Item #7: After convening at 9 a.m., but no earlier than 10:30 a.m., the Board will hear a request from the County Administrator for Board concurrence and adoption of a response to a 2021-22 Grand Jury Report titled “Electrifying Marin’s Buildings: A Countywide Approach” (June 6, 2022). County staff agreed with five findings and disagreed partially with one finding. Two recommendations have been not implemented but may be in the future, and one requires further analysis. Staff recommends that the Board concur in and thereby adopt response and direct the Board President to submit the response to the presiding judge.
The Board concurred and adopted the response.

Agenda Item #8: The Board will hear a request from the County Administrator’s Office to adopt a resolution authorizing the Board President to execute a 40-year lease with a mutual 10-year option to extend the term of an easement adjacent to the County-owned building at 1600 Los Gamos Drive in San Rafael. The easement is on approximately 1.2 acres of unimproved vacant land. The City of San Rafael has approved five-building apartment neighborhood with a market and community building. The easement would allow construction of a recycling collection area and parking area. The lease would be to County Strategic Fund I LLC.
The Board adopted the resolution to execute the lease and option.
