Agenda Item #6: The Board will hear a request for a report from Marin County's water agencies about local drought conditions. On May 10, Governor Gavin Newsom expanded California’s drought emergency to 41 out of 58 counties. Marin is not on the list, although Sonoma County – an important source of water for Marin customers – has been under a state of emergency since April 21 because of dry conditions within the Russian River watershed. Representatives from the Marin Municipal Water District and North Marin Water District have been invited to make presentations. During the session, the Board also will consider adopting a resolution declaring a local emergency and imminent threat of disaster.
Review
The Board heard the reports from the water districts and voted to declare a local disaster because of the drought.
