Agenda Item #8: The Board will hear a request from the Finance Department to introduce an ordinance to amend Marin County Code Chapter 3.27 (Ordinance No. 3570) related to property tax refunds. The ordinance was adopted in 2011 and set forth procedures for claiming and issuing property tax refunds, including specific time limits for taxpayers to submit refund claim forms. Amending the ordinance will expedite the issuance of refunds, reduce costs to the County, and reduce burdens on taxpayers. Staff recommends that the Board approve the introduction of ordinance and schedule consideration of adoption of ordinance for August 24, on the agenda's consent calendar.
