Pandemic Impacts on the Vulnerable

Board of Supervisors

Meeting Date: 11/3/2020

Agenda Item #6: The Board will hear a request from the County Administrator to adopt a resolution to address the disproportionate impacts the COVID-19 pandemic is having on our most marginalized communities, local businesses, and property owners. A coalition of community, health, education, and business sector leaders sent a letter to the County that highlighted such impacts on the lower-income Latinx community. Many of the most impacted people are essential workers. The coalition invited the County to collaborate with other organizations on a new Canal Policy Working Group to devise key policy solutions. Adoption of the resolution would formally demonstrate a commitment to finding bold, collaborative solutions that address the disproportionate impacts that the pandemic is having on local residents, property owners, and business owners.

The Board adopted the resolution.
