Appeal on San Geronimo Creek Restoration

Board of Supervisors

Meeting Date: 6/2/2020

The Board will hear a request from the Department of Public Works to consider the Snell appeal of the San Geronimo Creek Restoration Project Creek Permit (CP 20-012), 5800 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, San Geronimo (APN 172-372-14). A permit applicant would like to remove existing infrastructure including Roy's Pools fish ladder and sheet metal weirs, and create a new channel gradient with engineered streambed materials to allow fish passage and hydraulic connectivity. A failing pedestrian bridge would be removed as well. An appeal was received May 4, 2020, and asserts that the permit violates County Codes, violates the San Geronimo Valley Community Plan, and contradicts the Marin Countywide Plan. Staff recommends that the Board receive public testimony and consider adopting a resolution denying the petition to appeal the creek permit.

The Board received public testimony and adopted the resolution denying the petition to appeal the creek permit.
