Shortly after convening at 9 a.m., the Board will hear a presentation by the California State Association of Counties about its Challenge Award being given to the County of Marin, recognizing the Information Services and Technology (IST) “People at the Heart of Information Security” Program. IST used a combination of technology and internal culture change to address security threats from external sources. It saved the County $240,000 annually by upgrading security technology and made employees more aware of cyber threats. As part of its five-year strategic plan, IST has tripled its security resources.
The Board heard the presentation and IST accepted the award.
