The Board will hear the first reading of an ordinance amending Marin County Code Chapter 7.60 regulating ambulance transportation in Marin County. Last amended in 1996, the existing code provides for the establishment of standards for ambulance transport, personnel training, certification, supply requirements, response time requirements, radio and tracking mechanisms, patient treatment, and transportation protocols. A proposed amendment revises outdated language, addresses inconsistencies, and includes quality, performance, and data sharing requirements. Training requirements incorporated lessons learned from public safety power shutoffs (PSPS) and wildfires. Staff recommends that the Board schedule a merit hearing for 10:30 a.m. September 15.
