The Board will hear a request from the Community Development Agency to adopt a resolution barring evictions in Marin County due to the public health emergency arising from COVID-19, amending Resolution No. 2020-27 and incorporating additional tenant protections against evictions. On March 24, the Board adopted the resolution barring evictions during COVID-19, and since that time the sheltering order has been extended and expanded. The amended resolution addresses the changes and builds on statewide actions on renter protections. The amendment extends the deadline for a tenant to formally respond to an eviction complaint from five days to 60 days and prohibits residential evictions for tenants who can demonstrate that nonpayment of rent is directly related to the pandemic.
Review
The Board adopted the resolution.
