The Board will hear a request from the County Administrator to approve additional one-time emergency budget appropriations, in the amount of $5.9 million, for Emergency Operations Center (EOC) expenses. The Board ratified the proclamation of a local emergency on March 10 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past weeks, the County has incurred approximately $2.6 million in direct costs related to the EOC and short-term housing procurement. It is expected that it will cost an additional $2.3 million through the end of May. The additional budget appropriations would cover expenses for COVID-19-related needs such as medical surge preparations, short-term housing, and alternate care sites.
The Board approved the one-time budget appropriations.
