New Voting System Contract

Board of Supervisors

Meeting Date: 6/4/2019

Shortly after the Board convenes at 9 a.m., the Board will hear a request from the Registrar of Voters for a new voting system contract in the amount of $810,198, to Dominion Voting Systems, Inc. for Democracy Suite 5.2 Voting System, and related budget adjustments. The County's hardware and software systems for conducting elections are 20 years old and have reached the end of their useful lives. Dominion's tabulation products are used in 20 California counties, including Sonoma, Napa and Contra Costa. If approved, the installation process would begin this summer and the new system would be used for the first time for the November 2019 election. Staff recommends that the Board approve the contract and authorize the Director of Finance to approve budget adjustments.

The Board approved the new voting system contract.
