No earlier than 10:30 a.m., the Board will consider authorizing the Board President to execute a three-year, $10,750,582 agreement with Marin Humane to provide animal services for members of the Joint Powers Authority (JPA), including the County of Marin. In addition to the County, all of Marin's towns and cities are part of the JPA that contracts with Marin Humane. The current agreement expires June 30, and a negotiating team has met regularly since October 2017 to create a new deal and discuss costs of service, staffing, facilities and technological needs. The annual cost to the County would be 30 percent of the overall costs, averaging just more than $1 million per year. The new contract agreement would result in first readings of a Marin County Code ordinance amendment and updated fee schedule.
The Board authorized the agreement with Marin Humane.
