At 9 a.m., the Board will hear a request to adopt a resolution proclaiming September as Hunger Action Month and request to receive report from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regarding food insecurity in Marin. Food insecurity affects 20 percent of Marin residents and disproportionately affects low-income adults, seniors and children. The HHS report will give some background on the Calfresh program and the results of the point-in-time count of homeless individuals.
The Board adopted the resolution.
