Review
Supervisor Rice read the following:
The Hack4Health Team is, simply stated, awesome. Comprised of members across all levels of the organization, the team was overwhelmingly successful in holding the County’s first data event, termed ‘hackathon’. The hackathon afforded youths an opportunity to come up with creative solutions for improving their communities using modern technology and a data centric approach.
The team devoted themselves to ensuring a successful hackathon by seeking engagement with key departments, the community and vendor partners. The team set high goals and met all of them, paying close attention to many details. The collaboration and contribution by all groups aided in the event’s success. The event yielded 85 students from Marin and other parts of the Bay Area better equipped to bring new ideas back to their communities, and with many excited to participate in a future event.
Congratulations to the team on a job well done. The team members were: Nina Bell, Heather Burton, Laurie Childers, Nathan Craver, Maria Eckdish, Rochelle Ereman, Margaret Gallotti, Dongfen Gao, Frank Godino, Joseph Helwee, Wesley Hill, Angie Hisanaga, Senti Kironde, Kevin Kor, Nathan LaForce, Barbara Leale, Michael Lotosh, Robert Mahoney, Steve Marthinsen, Supriya Menon, Laurie Murphy, Jiku Park, Mariya Popova, Mikhail Posylkin, Marlene Say, Cathy Selmi, Jim Selmi, Brad Starks, Randy Stone, James Toth, Andrew Westbom, Christopher White, Dr. Matt Willis.
