System Contract for Marin Emergency Radio Authority

The Board will hear a request from the Department of Public Works to authorize the Board President to execute a radio communications system contract with Motorola for the Marin Emergency Radio Authority (MERA) Next Generation Project. The Board approved funding for the system agreement in June 2015. Public Works and MERA staff developed and negotiated a contract of $34.3 million with Motorola to design and implement the system. MERA has reviewed the Motorola proposal for the past six months, and contract terms and conditions were developed. The MERA Governing Board unanimously recommended the contract on February 22 and now seeks Board authorization to execute the contract.


The Board authorized the Board President to execute the contract.
