The Board will hear a request from Marin County Parks to receive an update from a community coalition to reduce residential pesticide use and request to approve $90,000 to support coalition efforts. County staff has worked with a Board subcommittee and Integrated Pest Management Commissioners to convene concerned community members to develop this campaign. A grant was secured from the Environmental Protection Agency to augment the County's financial commitment of $100,000. Two marketing campaign themes are best tested and will be finalized in late March to help reduce residential pesticide use.
