Not before 10:30 a.m., the Board will conduct a merit hearing for an ordinance establishing speed limits on portions of Point Reyes-Petaluma Road near Nicasio. Residents have expressed concerns about speeds in the area near the intersection of Point Reyes-Petaluma Road and Laurel Canyon Road. After a review by the California Highway Patrol, Public Works staff recommends lowering the speed limit from 55 to 40 on Point Reyes-Petaluma Road between Platform Bridge Road and Laurel Canyon Road, and lowering it from 55 to 50 between Laurel Canyon Road and Dam Road. This action would result in the installation and ongoing maintenance of signs and markings but would not impact the County's General Fund.
The Board conducted the merit hearing and adopted the ordinance.
