New Community Detoxification Facility

Board of Supervisors

Meeting Date: 5/24/2016

The Board will hear a request from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to take the following actions related to a new community detoxification facility: Authorize transfer of $1 million from non-departmental funds and roll over $1 million of unspent HHS expenditures; authorize the Board President to execute a funding agreement with Buckelew Programs, in an amount of up to $2.7 million, for site development and the purchase of a new modular building to house a community detoxification facility; and authorize the Department of Finance to make related budget adjustments. Buckelew must relocate its current detoxification facility, call the Vine Recovery Center, before its lease expires March 31, 2017. Buckelew has signed a new lease for a nearby 1.3 acre vacant site, also on property owned by the Silveira family.

The Board authorized the transfer of funds and authorized the Board President to execute the funding agreement.
