The Board hear a request to authorize the Board President to execute an agreement with the Novato Theater, in the amount of $150,000, for hazardous material removal and demolition work for the theater renovation. The theater has been closed since 1991 but has been demolished and is scheduled for renovation by the nonprofit Novato Theater corporation. the Board supported the purchase of the theater with $150,000 in 2012. The total project costs are estimated at $4.6 million. The nonprofit seeks $150,000 to support Phase 1 of the construction costs.
The Board authorized the Board President to execute the agreement.
