The Board will hear a request from Marin County Parks to authorize the Board President to execute a purchase agreement for the acquisition of Buck’s Landing, a 32.1 acre parcel in the unincorporated Santa Venetia area of eastern San Rafael. Known by some as Buck's Launching, the property just off Gallinas Creek is adjacent to the Marin County Open Space District's San Pedro Mountain Open Space Preserve. Gallinas Landing LLC purchased the property in April 2015 and has agreed to sell it to the County for the appraised value of $1.43 million. The Open Space District intends to allow for public use of the facility. Funding for the acquisition would come from the Measure A Parks and Open Space Program's acquisition budget and would not affect the County's General Fund.
The Board authorized the purchase agreement for the acquisition.
