Preview
At 9 a.m. in Suite 324A of the Civic Center, the Board will participate in an informational workshop about County’s draft Five-Year Business Plan, which is designed to guide future organizational development, technology, and performance management efforts. Informational materials will be provided at the workshop. Please note, there is limited seating in the room.
Review
The Board participated in the workshop and provided guidance to staff in preparation for an agenda item on October 13.

After the Board reconvenes at 10 a.m. in the Board chamber, it will hear a request from the Department of Public Works to authorize the purchase in the amount of $45,000 of an historic survey record collection from Bill Schroeder. The records date to 1849 and encompass about 30,000 original maps, surveys, subdivision plans, field notes, work ledgers and indexes. The collection will provide unique and valuable background material for present-day parcel owners.

The Board will hear a request from the Department of Public Works to approve the conceptual building renovation design for the Health and Human Services West Marin Service Center in Point Reyes Station. A public outreach meeting was held June 1 and preliminary designs were shared at two subsequent public meetings. Staff recommends that the Board consider approving the conceptual design and direct staff to proceed with preparation of design development plans.

The Board will conduct a public hearing on ordinance amendment to County Personnel Management Regulation Section 1.2, adding the position of Assistant Director of Finance and Assistant Public Defender. PMR 1.2 designates a limited number of positions that are outside the merit system, including assistants and chief assistants to elected officials and some department heads.
