Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Board of Supervisors

Meeting Date: 10/6/2015

The Board will hear a request to adopt a resolution proclaiming October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer cases in Marin have decreased since their peak in 2001, are no longer among the highest in the State, and are similar to rates in California and the United States. In fact, new statistics show that Marin is experiencing its lowest rates since the Cancer Prevention Institute of California started surveillance of rates in 1988.

The Board adopted the resolution.
