The Board will conduct a merit hearing on an ordinance amending Marin County Code Section 2.99.035 relating to Emergency Organization and Function to reflect changes to Government Code 8630 requiring the Board of Supervisors to review the need for continuing a local emergency every 30 days. Subsequent to declaring a local emergency in December 2014 because of severe storms, it was determined that the Marin County Code was no longer consistent with the California Government Code Section 8630, which had been amended in 2009 to require a Board of Supervisors to review the need for continuing a local emergency every 30 days rather than every 14 days. The County Code needs to reflect current language in the Government Code.
Review
The Board conducted the hearing and approved the ordinance amendment.
