Forest Knolls Affordable Housing

Board of Supervisors

Meeting Date: 11/17/2015

The Board will hear a request from the Community Development Agency to approve a loan in the amount of $617,198 from the County’s Housing Trust fund for the purchase and rehabilitation of the Forest Knolls Trailer Court and approve related actions as detailed in the staff report. The 20-unit trailer court provides a unique homeownership opportunity for low-income families and individuals. The San Geronimo Valley Affordable Housing Association is seeking to acquire the property from the County with the goal of preserving it as permanent affordable housing. The purchase of this property illustrates the acquisition for preservation strategy that is scheduled to discussed in more detail during the afternoon Board workshop on Preserving Housing Affordability and Preventing Displacement.

The Board approved the loan from the County's Housing Trust and approved related actions.
