The Board will hear a first reading of an ordinance amending the Marin County Personnel Management Regulations Section 1.2, adding the classification of Assistant Director of Human Resources. The regulation designates a limited number of positions that are outside the County's merit system, including deputies and chief assistants to elected officials and assistants to some department heads. A recruitment to fill the vacant Assistant Director of Human Resources position is being initiated, and the County Administrator has requested a first reading and a scheduled merit hearing for 10:30 a.m. February 3.
