The Board will hear the first reading of an ordinance establishing the speed limit on portions of Muir Woods Road, in Muir Woods National Monument and Mount Tamalpais State Park. The road does not have a posted speed limit but has a large number of users including visitors to Muir Woods. Following a traffic study, staff determined that a 25 mph limit would be appropriate between Panoramic Highway and the northern entrance to Santos Meadow. Staff recommends that the clerk read the ordinance by title only and schedule a merit hearing for 10:30 a.m. November 25.
The Board heard the first reading and scheduled the merit hearing.
