Living Wage Ordinance

Board of Supervisors

Meeting Date: 11/25/2014

The Board will conduct a hearing to amend the County’s Living Wage Ordinance to raise the wage to $13 per hour. The current living wage rate is $10.50 per hour with health benefits and $12.10 per hour without health benefits. The County does not have the legal authority to adjust the minimum wage; the living wage rate is for employers that receive contracts or subsidies from the local government. The Board approved the first reading of the ordinance on Nov. 4 and scheduled the merit hearing.

The Board adopted the ordinance amendment.
