Marin County Fair Dress Code

Board of Supervisors

Meeting Date: 6/11/2013

The Board will hear the first reading of an amendment to the Marin County Code that implements a dress code policy for the Marin County Fair. The Marin County Department of Cultural and Visitor Services, which oversees the annual fair, is supported by the Marin County Sheriff's Office and the office of the County Counsel in implementing changes in time for this year's fair, which runs July 3-8. The amendment is designed to prevent physical altercations between gangs that might intend to "fly their colors" while at the fair.

The Board heard the first reading plus words from Director of Cultural and Visitor Services Jim Farley and Undersheriff Michael Ridgway about the ordinance amendment.
