Highlights of the August 20, 2013 Board Meeting:
The Board will consider concurrence and adoption of response to 2012-2013 Marin County Civil Grand Jury report titled "Marin's Software Saga Continues, But Is There MERIT in ATOM? (June 10, 2013). The report recommended eight actions by the Board of Supervisors pertaining to the planned implementation of a new computer software system that would replace the MERIT system.

The Board will conduct a merit hearing of an ordinance establishing the speed limit on a portion of Seminary Drive in the Strawberry area of unincorporated Mill Valley. Public Works staff recommends increasing the speed limit from 25 mph to 30 mph between the Ricardo Road and Gilbert Drive.

The Board will conduct a hearing on the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act (TEFRA) regarding issuance of up to $4.5 million of tax-exempt conduit obligations for the benefit of the Shining Star Foundation to finance capital improvements to certain educational facilities at 171 and 181 Carlos Drive, San Rafael and 4470 Redwood Highway, San Rafael.

The Board will consider applications for two at-large vacancies on the Parks and Open Space Commission and one on the County Service Area (CSA) #16 Greenbrae board.

The Board will hear an update from the Community Development Agency on activities of the Board Stream Conservation Area Subcommittee and request to approve guiding principles and framework for Countywide Plan amendments relating to stream protection and watershed enhancement.
