Each year, the Board of Supervisors adopts a Federal and State Legislative platform that is designed to provide policy direction regarding legislative matters that are of singular and direct interest to Marin County. Adoption of the legislative program delegates standing authority to the County Administrator’s Office to take action on pending legislative matters when time constraints preclude bringing such matters to the Board of Supervisors in advance. This document also provides the County’s advocates in Sacramento and Washington D.C. with a better understanding of the Board’s policy preferences regarding a variety of intergovernmental issues that might arise throughout the course of the legislative process.
