The Management and Budget Division is responsible for the County Budget and oversees the implementation of the 5 Year Business Plan (see year 3 update) and Marin Compass performance management system. The division also coordinates the County's legislative efforts; is responsible for countywide communication planning and dissemination of public and employee information.
The County of Marin has a series of policies and procedures which govern certain aspects of County processes. Policies listed pertain to employees, facilities, security and financial items.
Each fiscal year the County implements a new budget. The Budget Overview provides an explanation of the process, links to the most recent and prior years' budgets as well as the role of the public and other budget-related items.
Review the results of the 2018 Marin County Resident Survey. The survey was designed to capture a snapshot of a community’s opinions and perspectives on topics such as safety, mobility, natural environment, economy, recreation and wellness, education, and community engagement.

To alleviate the strain on County services and to help promote an acceptable living standard for working residents, the Board of Supervisors has adopted a living wage policy.
