San Rafael, CA – There are two term expirations on the Marin Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, and the application deadline is 5 p.m. August 4. The Marin County Board of Supervisors is the appointing authority.
Applicants must be a tenant or a voucher holder of the Marin Housing Authority. The Board of Commissioners makes policies and decisions that affect public housing and programs administered by the Marin Housing Authority.
Marin Housing is a public corporation authorized to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing for low- and moderate-income residents. It is empowered to acquire property, develop housing, issue tax-exempt bonds, enter into mortgages, trust indentures, author leases, condemn property, borrow money, accept grants and manage property.
Marin Housing is separate and distinct from the county government, the federal government, and from other county and state agencies - much like a special district. The Housing Authority Commission currently consists of seven members – the five members of the Board of Supervisors plus two public housing tenants. Marin Housing operates programs in the incorporated areas of Marin under cooperation agreements with local towns and cities.
Apply online or learn more about the application process by calling the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors at (415) 473-7331.
