San Rafael, CA – Dennis Rodoni, a contractor from Olema with a deep track record of community involvement in West Marin and beyond, took the oath of office and officially joined the Marin County Board of Supervisors as District 4 Supervisor on January 3 during the Board’s annual reorganization.

Rodoni replaced Steve Kinsey, who chose not to run for another term after 20 years in the role. In addition, District 5 Supervisor Judy Arnold took over as Board President, District 1 Supervisor Damon Connolly was voted First Vice President and District 3 Supervisor Kate Sears was named Second Vice President.
Rodoni, who grew up in West Marin, was elected in November. He served 21 years on the North Marin Water District Board of Directors and is a former high school teacher. For more than 30 years, he ran his own company that specialized in custom home remodeling and home building. Meanwhile, he participated on nearly a dozen advisory committees, boards and associations.
“I am both grateful and humbled by your trust in me to represent you … and I am honored to be your voice in County government,” Rodoni said in his introductory message. “My staff and I are looking forward to hearing from you and keeping you informed.”
Arnold succeeded Kinsey as Board President and is accepting the role for a third time. Her district includes most of the city of Novato and surrounding unincorporated areas. A Novato resident since 1996, she joined the Board of Supervisors in 2006 after a term on the Novato City Council.
During the first Board meeting of the new year, Arnold thanked all County employees for their dedication and listed some of her top priorities for 2017. She said she was recently inspired by an interview with actors associated with the popular Broadway musical “Hamilton” and how seriously they took the challenge of representing the country’s founding fathers who worked through their many differences.
“It’s going to be a busy year, and I want my colleagues to know how much I appreciate working with you and how seriously this Board takes its work for the county,” she said.
