Multiple agencies respond to morning wreck near Samuel P. Taylor State Park

Woodacre, CA – Three people died in an early-morning single-car crash just west of Samuel P. Taylor State Park in West Marin.

At 12:09 a.m., the Marin County Fire Department responded to a vehicle crash on westbound Sir Francis Drake Boulevard near Platform Bridge Road reported by an off-duty National Park Service ranger. The Marin County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol also responded. The first responders found the wreck of a 2013 Toyota Corolla sedan about 10 feet off the road with major structural damage.

Three young males were found unresponsive in the vehicle, all with seat belts on, and determined to be deceased. Emergency extrication or transportation to a hospital was unfortunately not needed, said Marin County Fire Battalion Chief Bret McTigue.

The Coroner Division of the Sheriff’s Office later issued a news release with information about the victims' identities. The division can be reached at (415) 473-6043.
