San Rafael, CA – Marin County Parks is finished with its holiday shopping. It was easy: As part of its #OptOutside campaign, County residents are getting free entry into the County’s three regional parks from December 1 through January 1, 2016.
A young girl enjoys a spin at the Stafford Lake Bike Park.
Normally the three parks have entry and/or parking fees, but those are waived through New Year’s Day at
McNears Beach in San Rafael,
Paradise Beach in Tiburon, and
Stafford Lake in Novato. The gift provides recreational opportunities for residents and visitors, especially for those who do not typically visit parks that charge entry fees. It’s a prime chance to enjoy fishing, kite flying, picnicking, bird watching, kayaking, and disc golfing.
The new and very popular Stafford Lake Bike Park will be the perfect spot to visit for anyone who gets a new mountain bike as a holiday gift. Note that the bike park is closed during and after big storms. Find out about any Stafford Lake Bike Park alert and closure information by calling (415) 473–JUMP (5867).
