Library Patrons Offered New Web Streaming Service

If you have a Marin County Free Library card, you can enjoy free titles

San Rafael, CA – The Marin County Free Library is excited to announce a new streaming service that allows library card holders to instantly stream movies, TV shows, audiobooks and music via the library for free.

Hoopla is the library world equivalent of services such as Netflix or Hulu. Patrons with an Internet-connected computer or mobile device can sign up for Hoopla on the go for iOS and Android for offline playback of downloaded titles. Hoopla offers an extensive catalog of educational materials, children’s titles, foreign films and hard-to-find content in addition to Hollywood blockbusters.

Through the website and mobile app, Hoopla patrons can search for specific titles or easily browse titles by scrolling through Music, Movies, Audiobooks or Television tabs. The library has an unlimited number of copies, so patrons never have to wait. Borrowed titles will be automatically returned on the checkout expiration date, preventing late fees.

Register by visiting www.hoopladigital.com or download the Hoopla app. An email address, a password and library card information are necessary to sign up.
