The Board will hear a request to adopt a resolution proclaming April as Marin Earth Month. As part of the its Greenhouse Gas Emissions Plan, the County as pledged to reduce emissions 15 percent from 1990 levels by 2020. According to the latest statistics, the County has reduced emissions by 13.5 percent from 1990 levels since the pledge was made in 2006. The County also has made significant progress with single-use bag use reduction, increasing nonmotorized transportation, electric vehicle charging stations, renewable energy options and education programs to promote sustainable living.
